Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator with NBC News in Washington D.C. and is a television anchor. Mitchell graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell began her career as reporter for TV and radio in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She was then a reporter for the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed within Washington DC. She then became a Washington general correspondent to NBC News two years later. In 1981 began covering the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She was appointed chief congressional correspondent in the year 1992. was named chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 she became the chief foreign affairs correspondent of NBC News. Mitchell has appeared on the TV news program Meet the Press as a panelist and host. Mitchell participated on a panel during the 1988 debate between George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married with Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense for First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell covered news from the White House first for NBC News between 1981-1988, between the terms of Ronald Reagan's second term as president. Mitchell covered a wide range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-contra case and tax reform. She was with Ronald Reagan in numerous visits to world summits and reported often.
